Strawberry Cheesecake......A success story!

A baking success.......whew made it finally after so many attempts since christmas time and come to think of it the philippines got the longest christmas season in the whole world so imagine how many times i made this and finally i got it right....
My fresh strawberry chessecake tart and luscious hhhhmmmm and u wouldn't believe how fast it dissappeared hehehe soft and creamy with just a taste of tartness

A Day of Baking

I have an unexpected free day today jan 17 the reason the electric company is installing new electric post on the street where my clinic is situated and they say its part of the modernization program they promised their consumers ( HAH! what a crap expect lots of repeated brownouts in the following days!)
So i have to make my day productive since i hate doing nothing at all and i don't have any plans going anywhere
might as well make my day productive than just lazing around ( hehehe i'de rather cook than clean my room).
So as you can see i made something for breakfast great with peanut butter. A brown sugar banana bread ( lessen the sugar to 1/3 cup next time i'll make it 1/2cup to sweeten it )
Made 3 loaves good till tomorrows breakfast.
Next was a heart shape chocolate cake for valentine (i know its still too early for valentine but cant resist baking on that heart shape pan i just bought!)
And the last one was a lemon cheesecake still in the fridge so i have not yet taken a pic of it maybe later on and will be posting it here another day.
Well see I have been busy today ( and getting worried coz am sure gonna gain a pound or two with this lots of goodies)

Ube Haleya

A noche buena feast isnt complete without the all time favorite Ube Haleya. And in our family my dad is the ube haleya expert cook. Eversince we move to our present house that has a big backyard he planted his own ube crop to be harvested only during the christmas season.

Boiled ube crop to be mashed then evaporated milk, coconut milk and sugar will be added

You've got to know when it's dead. You've got to know when it's over. Let me tell you something.

I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye.

It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have

He'll give it to me.

And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it. Stop begging people to stay.

My Christmas Gifts

Last december i tried my hand on baking goods as my christmas gifts. And I can tell you now baking is such a hard work and I salute all those who baked so hard and produce such wonderfully and heavenly baked goods from cookies , pies to cakes
So after so many unsuccessful attempts i choose the one my nephew Nico like best ( its always a good guage to let your relatives specially the young ones to get the first taste of your baking. Hah! they will really tell you what taste good and yucky)
So after so many attempts he pick my Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies baked dozens and dozens to give to my friends and here at home since christmas season is a good excuse for everyone to indulge in eating by hey this recipe is good for the health conscious too...

Happy Choco Birthday Karlo

It's my nephew Karlo's 9th birthday well that will be tomorrow Jan 8 since he is visiting us we decided to celebrate his birthday today.
So i surprise him with 3 varities of chocolate cakes which he and his other cousins thoroughly enjoyed well except for the square one which is reserved for tomorrow his birthday which he will enjoy with his older sisters angel and jeng.
Its the first presentable chocolate cake i had done and hhhhmmm kinda proud of the outcome.

This chocolate cupcake with choco ganache and sugar sprinkle was a hit among the kids well Karlo's 5 cousins great way to serve the kids with their individual cakes.

This is the best seller of the cakes for the health conscious its good too made of whole wheat flour and muscovado sugar (organic brown sugar) its super moist and light .
